I was hospital diagnosed in September 2010 with stevens johnson syndrome, sjs as a result of taking valtrex medication, manufacturered by glaxo smith kline, gsk glaxosmithkline, prescribed by my family doctor in vancouver british columbia. I am looking for a lawyer to represent me in either a class action or medical malpractice law suit .

I am a Canadian Citizen. I visited my family doctor on Burrard street in Vancouver, around June 2009. I informed him of my skin rash on my legs and how i was desirous of his suggestions for something to control this rash. He took medical notes and suggested Valtrex would be a good solution.

I did not request a prescription at that time.

Around early september of 2010, while holidaying in Palm Springs California, the rash became much worse, so I phoned the doctor and asked if he could fill the prescription which he agreed to. I told him I was in Palm Springs and would have it sent down here via regular mail.

I started taking the medication as prescribed, and within 3 days starting having an allergice reaction which started out as itchy skin, which then lead to painfull blister like, pus filled lesions on my chest and arms and back.

The pain became unbearable by the fourth day and I sought medical advice at a local palm springs hosptial, who misdiagnosed the problem.

About three days after being misdiagnosed my friend from Vancouver came down on an emergency visit to assist me as I was starting to become somewhat delirious and unable to make sound decisions due to excrutiating pain.

I was then taken to eisenhower medical centre in rancxho mirage california, where i was properly diagnosed.

Eisenhower could not treat me full as thye did not have a burn unit, which was one of the effects of SJS. stevens johnson syndrome. In particular skin looked like it was in a fire and had third degree open wounds.

I was then transferred to a hospital in colton california where I was treated from about 10 days for SJS. stevens johnson syndrome

My medical records from arrow head medical in colton, clearly state the skin problems were sjs . stevens johnson syndrome

my holidy insruance ran out, so I was transported back to vancouver where i contined treatment for about one more week at vancouver general hospital.

I am looking for either a medical malpractice doctor lawsuit, or class action law suit lawyer to help me out with my case.

I have full medical records, pictures, and everything needed to launch an action.

My upper body remains badly scarred and disfigured, constantly itchy, and breaking out in open wounds.I have been told that I will require skin grafting in order to help make my skin looking closer to norml than it is now.It was etimated by Arrow head medical centre that 20% of my entire body was effected by SJS., stevens johnson syndrome

It appears that this case needs to be tried by a Canadian lawyer as the prescription was filled in Vancouver, and then mailed to me. My doctor was fully aware that I was to be having the RX mailed to me in Palm Springs.
